Checkout This Rihanna's Enormous Headless Sculpture In Berlin [PHOTO]

Colombian artist, Juan Sebastián Peláez is definitely making a statement at the ninth Berlin Biennale for Contemporary Art. His headless sculpture of singer Rihanna stands nearly 20 feet tall for spectators to marvel.

The sculpture is titled Ewaipanoma (Rihanna). Reportedly, the headless carving of the “Work” singer is part of a series by Peláez of oversize photo-cutouts of headless human bodies –their faces pictured eerily on their chests– specifically those of Caribbean and Latin American pop stars and soccer players.

This collection by Peláez comments on the “projections of otherness” that are placed on those who fall into the glow of the lime light; celebrities are often looked at as faceless entities instead of people.

The Berlin Biennale is a forum for contemporary art that takes place bi-annually. Viewings of the various collections can be found at venues throughout the city.
