‘Incoming’ Super Eagles Foreign Coach, Paul Le Guen; Set To Earn N16.2m Per Month

The foreign coach Super Eagles are targeting – Paul Le Guen – will be paid a massive monthly salary of N16.2m, the equivalent of €44,000 by the Nigeria Football Federation – if he’s hired.

There had been speculations on who would carry on coaching the national team after the departure of Sunday Oliseh, in February.

According to reports, NFF have been in talks with Le Guen who had a successful managerial career in France, most notably leading Olympique Lyonnais to three consecutive Ligue 1 titles. He also managed Stade Rennais, Paris Saint-Germain, Glasgow Rangers and the Cameroon national team.

A reliable source in the NFF discarded reports of employing a Serbian coach insisting that Paul Le Guen remains their favourite.

“Initially, we thought of getting a Serbian. We’ve since moved on and held talks with Le Guen who is enthusiastic on working with the star-studded Super Eagles. He is a gentleman and stickler for discipline.”

Le Guen qualified Cameroon for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, where they crashed out in the first round, Vanguard reports.
