Man Arrested After Using His Own Wanted Poster As Facebook Profile Picture

A wanted Florida man has been arrested for taunting the Police after using his wanted poster on Facebook.

Stuart Police told ABC News they were able to track down Mack Yearwood, a man with two outstanding warrants as well as a possible tie to an open case, after he used his own wanted poster as his Facebook profile picture. Cpl. Brian Bossio wrote in a post on the Stuart Police Department’s Facebook page...

“Facebook is a great way to communicate and connect with old friends and family,”“If you are wanted by the police, it’s probably not a good idea to use the ‘Wanted of the Week’ poster of yourself as your profile pic.”

Police earlier this week responded to call about an alleged battery at a local home, and while he had already fled the scene, the victim pointed to Yearwood as a possible suspect.

Once officers began digging into the 42-year-old suspect, they learned of his outstanding warrants and then came across his social media accounts, ABC reported.

“The patrol guys, to look where he was and for some intelligence, they went to his Facebook page,” Bossio told the news outlet. “They discovered that he used his wanted poster for his Facebook profile.”

When officers found Yearwood, he was sleeping at his brother’s house, and upon their arrival, requested an officer hand him his pants.

When he began to dress, Bossio explained, “a bag of weed” fell out of his pants pocket, resulting in a cannabis possession charge.

Yearwood has not yet, however, been charged in the battery case as it is still under investigation, police said.
