Beyoncé’s ‘LEMONADE’ Projected To Sell 500,000 Copies In First Week!

Queen Bey is back on top. After serving up her visual album LEMONADE to scrutiny, adoration, and controversy, the project is expected to land at No. 1 on next week’s Billboard 200 albums chart.

According to Billboard, Bey’s latest could sell 500,000 copies and more than 700,000 equivalent album units in its opening week.

LEMONADE made its debut on April 23 following an hour-long special on HBO. Immediately after, the album dropped as a TIDAL exclusive and by Monday (Apr. 25), it was available at other digital retailers, including iTunes and Amazon. This is all happening without physical sales, as those will be available starting May 6.

In addition to stellar sales, the album has been receiving rave reviews from critics including Rolling Stone, who awarded it a perfect 5 out of 5 stars. “LEMONADE is her most emotionally extreme music, but also her most sonically adventurous,” wrote the magazine.

Since releasing the album, Beyoncé has also launched her “Formation World Tour” with opener DJ Khaled.

This is not Bey’s first time at the top of the Billboard 200. Most recently, she arrived at No. 1 with her self-titled 2013 album, which sold 991,000 units in its first 10 days of availability. Before that, she also reached No. 1 with 2011’s 4, 2008’s I Am…Sasha Fierce, 2006’s B’Day, and 2003’s Dangerously in Love.
