Oscar Pistorius Sentenced To 6 Years In Prison For Girlfriend's Murder

South African athlete, Oscar Pistorius has finally been sentenced to six years imprisonment for the murder of Reeva Steenkamp.

The Paralympic champion actually faced upto 15 years imprisonment, but according to the judge, there were “substantial and compelling reasons” to deviate from the 15-year minimum sentence, citing as one factor, the continuing misperception that Pistorius had intended to kill his girlfriend.

The judge further added that, a long-term jail sentence will not serve justice as Oscar is already a broken man and a fallen hero.

The victim’s family, were stunned that Oscar Pistorius got just 6 years but said nothing. And Oscar can be paroled for good behavior after serving a 3rd of his sentence, which is just 2 years.
