The embarrassing backlash caused by Melania Trump's plagiarism brouhaha have compelled the resignation of the much vilified speech writer of the now infamous speech —but Republican Presidential candidate, Donald Trump has refused her resignation.
Meredith McIver, the speech writer says “the almost word-for-word lifting happened after Melania gave her passages, over the phone, from Michelle’s speech.”
McIver adds that she “wrote them down and later included some of the phrasing in the draft that ultimately became the final speech.”
Either you believe it or not, McIver who has been a co-author on several of Donald Trump’s books says that’s exactly what happened and that the mistake occurred because “I did not check Mrs. Obama’s speeches. This was my mistake, and I feel terrible for the chaos I have caused Melania and the Trumps, as well as to Mrs. Obama. No harm was meant.”
According Meredith McIver, she tried resigning on Tuesday because of the unpardonable mistake Donald Trump refused, telling her that people make mistakes and she should learn from the it.
