The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has declared Ugonna Madueke, who is the son of former petroleum minister, Diezani Alison-Madueke, wanted.
“We have launched a manhunt for Ugonna, who the suspects said was the one who drew up a list of individuals, who should be given the N23bn ($115m),” a source told Punch.
“We don’t know exactly where he is but we will get him. He needs to explain his role in the sharing of the money because the bank officials have been mentioning his name since they were brought in,” he added.
EFCC officials also reportedly said that Ugonna Madueke served as a middleman between his mother and Nnamdi Okonkwo, the Managing Director of Fidelity Bank, through which the funds were funnelled.
Okonkwo has since been arrested by the EFCC.
