On Sunday night, Beyoncé became the most awarded artist in the 31-year history of the MTV Video Music Awards, when she took home the the award for "Best Female Video," her 21st.
The pop star was up for 11 awards at the show and needed four wins to become the most awarded artist and overtake Madonna's record. The video for "Formation," from her Lemonade visual album, won five awards on its own.
Beyoncé is also the most Grammy nominated artist and the most BET awarded artist. Beyoncé along with Eminem and Rihanna as the only artists to win multiple Video of the Year awards.
